Estuary Power has announced the final completion of all phases of its Escape Solar and Storage project in Lincoln County, Nevada, as of December 2025. The project now delivers a total of 185 megawatts (MW) of solar energy and 400 megawatt-hours (MWh) of battery storage to four Nevada customers under long-term agreements.
Under a 25-year power purchase agreement, Escape began supplying 115 MW of solar energy and 400 MWh of battery capacity to MGM Resorts International, providing renewable energy during peak demand hours and contributing to MGM’s sustainability goals. Earlier in June 2025, the project started supplying 70 MW of solar energy to Overton Power District No. 5, Caesars Entertainment, and Wynn Las Vegas.
“Estuary is proud to serve some of Nevada’s most recognized commercial and public-power customers with economical and reliable renewable energy,” said Jill Daniel, CEO of Estuary Power. She added that the Escape Project, “an unusually complex project delivered ahead of an already accelerated schedule, demonstrates Estuary’s ability to develop, finance, and deliver large-scale energy infrastructure through creativity, agility, and disciplined execution.”
Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and President of MGM, said the project supports the company’s goal of 100% renewable electricity domestically by 2030. “Together with our Mega Solar Array, the new Escape Solar and Storage Project reflects our focus on scalable, impactful clean-energy solutions, strengthening our business and supporting a more resilient energy future,” he added.
Financially, Escape closed its final funding through a tax equity investment commitment from Morgan Stanley Renewables Inc., and completed the term conversion of its long-term construction-to-term loan provided by Denham Capital. The permanent capital structure also includes a letter of credit facility from Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (Nord/LB).
Construction of the solar arrays was completed by Bechtel Infrastructure and Power Corporation, while Tesla, Inc. supplied and installed the battery energy storage system. Substation and transmission upgrades were handled by Dashiell Corporation, and JinkoSolar provided the TOPCon photovoltaic modules.
Based in Reno, Nevada, Estuary Power develops, owns, and operates large-scale energy generation, storage, and transmission projects across the western United States. The company is financially backed by the $6.3 billion Ullico Infrastructure Fund (UIF).
