Solex Energy Limited has received approval for its 3.78 GW solar module manufacturing capacity under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) maintained by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The approval applies to the company’s solar module production facility located in Surat, Gujarat, marking an important step for the company in expanding its presence in India’s rapidly growing solar manufacturing sector.
The ALMM framework, introduced by the Indian government, is aimed at ensuring quality standards for solar modules deployed in government-supported and public sector renewable energy projects. Inclusion in the ALMM list allows manufacturers to supply modules to a wide range of central and state government solar programs, which represent a significant portion of India’s utility-scale solar installations.
With the addition of 3.78 GW of approved manufacturing capacity, Solex Energy is now eligible to participate more actively in domestic solar tenders that require ALMM-compliant products. The facility manufactures advanced photovoltaic modules designed for high efficiency and improved performance in large-scale solar installations.
The development comes at a time when India is focusing on strengthening its domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem as part of broader efforts to reduce reliance on imported components and support local industry growth. Companies receiving ALMM approvals are expected to play a key role in supplying modules for the country’s expanding solar power projects.
Industry observers note that the approval further strengthens Solex Energy’s position in the competitive solar manufacturing landscape and supports its long-term growth strategy as demand for domestically produced solar modules continues to rise in India’s renewable energy market.
