The Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), operating under the Department of Atomic Energy, has issued online item rate tenders for major civil and allied construction works at its Hyderabad facility. The project, named “OGSEP Construction,” aims to build four new Over Ground Solar Evaporation Ponds (OGSEP) to replace existing on-ground units. The project will include two large ponds measuring 43.5 meters by 38.5 meters and two smaller ponds of 43.2 meters by 13.4 meters, all elevated at a height of two meters. Along with the pond structures, the scope of work covers specialized Polyethylene Glass (PEG) lining, reinforced concrete catwalks, staircases, and protective coatings to ensure durability and safety.
The estimated cost of this project is approximately ₹17.93 Crore, which includes Goods and Services Tax, Employee Provident Fund, Employee State Insurance, and other applicable benefits. The selected contractor will be required to complete the work within 24 calendar months from the commencement date. This project is significant for NFC, as it will modernize its solar evaporation facilities, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen infrastructure for its ongoing activities.
