Vikram Solar has crossed a significant milestone of 10 GW in cumulative global solar module deployments, reinforcing its growing role in the global clean energy transition. The achievement reflects strong demand momentum and highlights the company’s rapid growth, having doubled its installations from 5 GW to 10 GW within just two years.

The 10 GW deployment—equivalent to over 25 million solar modules—has the capacity to power more than 5 million Indian homes. This milestone comes amid India’s solar sector surpassing 150 GW of installed capacity, with Vikram Solar playing a key role through its manufacturing expertise and large-scale project execution capabilities.

While the majority of installations are concentrated in India, the company has steadily expanded its international footprint. Approximately 1.5 GW of exports have enabled its presence across 39 countries, positioning it among a select group of global solar module manufacturers with a diversified geographic reach.

The milestone also reflects Vikram Solar’s long-standing focus on innovation and quality. The company has been involved in landmark projects such as the world’s first fully solar-powered airport in Cochin and early floating solar installations in India. Its recognition in global benchmarks—including the BloombergNEF Tier 1 list, KIWA PVEL module reliability scorecard, and EcoVadis ‘Platinum’ rating—underscores its commitment to performance, reliability, and sustainability.

On the manufacturing front, Vikram Solar has established 9.5 GW of module production capacity across West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Its 5 GW facility in Vallam, Tamil Nadu, features advanced automation and next-generation manufacturing systems. As part of its backward integration strategy, the company is expanding its Gangaikondan site to include 6 GW of module capacity and 12 GW of cell manufacturing.

Additionally, Vikram Solar is strengthening its presence in the energy storage segment through VSL Powerhive, with plans to develop a 5 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) facility by FY27. The company is also advancing its lithium battery brand, VION, targeting residential and mobility backup applications.

Commenting on the milestone, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, stated that crossing the 10 GW mark reflects the accelerating role of solar energy in the global energy mix. He added that the company remains focused on advancing high-efficiency technologies, enhancing manufacturing capabilities, and deepening backward integration to support the evolving demands of the energy transition.
