Loom Solar, one of India’s fastest-growing solar technology manufacturers, has reported that its ‘Learn Solar’ initiative has engaged over 50,000 participants across more than 200 sessions over the past six years. The milestone reflects increasing grassroots interest in solar adoption, awareness, and skill development across the country.

The initiative is designed to bridge the solar knowledge gap by enabling individuals, small businesses, and aspiring entrepreneurs to better understand and participate in India’s expanding renewable energy ecosystem. Delivered through webinars, workshops, and digital learning formats, the programme simplifies solar technology, installation processes, and business opportunities, making them more accessible to diverse audiences.

According to the company, participation has been particularly strong across North and Central India, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Punjab. These regions, driven by high agricultural activity, MSME presence, and rising electricity demand, are increasingly adopting solar solutions as a cost-effective and reliable alternative.

The growing awareness generated through the initiative is also contributing to tangible outcomes such as the expansion of local installer networks, increased rooftop solar adoption, rising interest in solar entrepreneurship, and greater alignment with government schemes like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

Commenting on the development, Amod Anand, Co-Founder and Director, Loom Solar, said, “Learn Solar was never about building a customer base; it was about building a movement. It is deeply encouraging for us to serve the nation by enabling access to solar knowledge and helping individuals become energy self-reliant. When people understand solar, they don’t just adopt it—they build livelihoods around it and drive meaningful change in their communities.”

The initiative attracts a diverse group of participants, including new dealers, small business owners, engineers, students, and existing installers, positioning it as both an education platform and an entry point into India’s renewable energy workforce.

The company noted that its grassroots impact is reflected in several success stories, including that of a small electrical shop owner in Rajasthan who expanded into solar distribution after attending the programme and now serves as a local clean energy hub for nearby communities.

While ‘Learn Solar’ remains an educational initiative, Loom Solar has also received industry recognition for its contributions to solar awareness, innovation, and manufacturing. Through the programme, the company continues to advance its broader mission of democratising solar knowledge and supporting a more sustainable and energy-independent India.
