The Information Technology Electronics and Communication Department of Telangana has issued an open tender for the development of a large-scale solar power project across the state. The state government department is inviting bids from qualified companies for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of ground-mounted solar power plants with a combined capacity of 19 MW. The project will be implemented across 18 substations located in 9 erstwhile districts of Telangana through a rate contract under the Capex model.

According to the tender details, the selected bidder will also be responsible for providing a complete warranty and guarantee for five years. In addition, the company awarded the project must handle the operation and maintenance of the solar plants for five years from the date of commissioning. The project also includes the installation of a remote monitoring system to ensure real-time monitoring, data logging, and efficient performance management of the solar infrastructure.

The tender process officially began on May 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with both document download and bid submission windows opening simultaneously. Interested bidders can download the tender documents and submit their proposals until June 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The bids will be opened later on the same day at 5:00 PM.

To participate in the bidding process, companies are required to submit a non-refundable tender fee of ₹1,180. The tender also requires an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹25 lakh, which is aimed at ensuring serious participation from bidders.

The project sites are spread across different locations within Telangana. Although the tender has reportedly been indexed under the shipping, transportation, and vehicle product category, the actual scope of work is entirely focused on solar power infrastructure development.

This initiative is expected to support Telangana’s clean energy goals by promoting renewable energy adoption at substations across the state. The project is also likely to help reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and modernize power infrastructure through sustainable energy solutions and digital monitoring systems.
