US solar tracker specialist Array Technologies has updated its OmniTrack terrain-following tracker, now enabling a flex capability of up to 2° between adjacent posts.

The update doubles the 1° of flex capability available in the original OmniTrack, introduced in 2024. The new system is now available to quote and is expected to ship starting in the third quarter of 2026.

“This update provides greater design flexibility for customers that can help reduce construction costs and accelerate deployment by further minimizing the need for site grading,” the company said in a statement. “This is one of the highest degrees of flexibility among terrain-following trackers, which are a growing segment of the utility-scale solar industry.”

The updated OmniTrack, like its predecessor, is a horizontal single-axis tracker with a 52° range. It has a north-south train flexibility of up to 8.5° and an east-west train flexibility of up to 30° combined angles. It can handle up to 32 linked rows per drive motor. The company offers a ten-year structural warranty and a five-year warranty for drive and control components.

The company added that the increased flexibility helps preserve the natural hydrology of the site, in turn lessening environmental impact, lowering erosion risk and preserving the health and reliability of the soils.

“These improvements, specifically reducing the need to disturb areas and preserving the land, can help streamline permitting approvals and support community relations to accelerate project development,” the company’s statement said.
