Engineering Projects (India) Limited (EPIL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible EPC contractors and associate partners for a proposed 250 MW solar power project in Rajasthan.
The initiative is linked to an upcoming tender by SJVN Green Energy Limited and aims to identify experienced partners capable of undertaking the development of a utility-scale solar project on an EPC basis.
The proposed project involves the development of a 250 MW AC grid-connected solar photovoltaic plant near the 220 kV Bikaner-IV substation at Ambaran in Rajasthan. The scope of work includes land identification and acquisition, engineering, procurement and construction activities, transmission infrastructure development, testing and commissioning, as well as three years of operations and maintenance services.
According to the EOI document, interested bidders must demonstrate strong technical and financial capabilities, including prior experience in solar EPC project execution and the ability to secure suitable land for project development. Applicants are also required to possess experience in developing associated transmission infrastructure.
The project reflects the growing trend toward integrated “EPC-with-Land” solutions in India’s utility-scale renewable energy sector, where developers seek turnkey partners capable of managing both project execution and land procurement.
Rajasthan continues to attract significant renewable energy investments due to its high solar irradiation levels, availability of large land parcels, and established transmission network. The Bikaner region, in particular, has emerged as a key hub for large-scale solar power development.
The proposed 250 MW project is expected to contribute to India’s ongoing renewable energy expansion efforts and support the country’s broader clean energy and decarbonization objectives.
