The Indian stock market showed a mixed trend on August 13, 2026, with benchmark indices witnessing mild movements during mid-afternoon trading. The S&P BSE Sensex gained 0.15% to reach 78,079.96, while the Nifty 50 declined 0.34% to 24,353.35. Against this backdrop, green energy and power stocks delivered a mixed performance, with selective renewable energy companies gaining while several others faced selling pressure.
EKI Energy Services and Websol Energy System emerged among the leading gainers, advancing around 1.6%. Websol Energy traded at Rs 86.54 on the BSE, gaining 1.63%, while it rose 2.65% on the NSE to Rs 87.55.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) attracted strong buying interest, rising 1.50% to Rs 4,052. Olectra Greentech gained 1.17% to Rs 1,400. Other stocks in the clean energy and utility segment also ended higher. Borosil Renewables advanced 0.92% to Rs 578.75, while Tata Power gained 0.78% to Rs 380.95. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy rose 0.67% to Rs 204.10.
Among major energy companies, GAIL gained 0.72% on the BSE to Rs 174.90, while Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) advanced 0.57% to Rs 141.50.
However, several stocks came under pressure. Insolation Energy was the biggest loser, declining more than 8.2% to around Rs 97 on the BSE and Rs 97.21 on the NSE. Juniper Green Energy fell 1.86% to Rs 248.30.
Battery and electric mobility-related stocks also weakened. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility declined 1.75% to Rs 951.35, while Exide Industries slipped 1.03% to Rs 485.60.
Adani Green Energy dropped 1.27% to Rs 1,317, while Reliance Industries declined 0.93% to Rs 1,314.80. Praj Industries, Kabra Extrusion and Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) also fell around 1%.
Meanwhile, NTPC Green Energy at Rs 92.50 and JSW Energy at Rs 556.10 remained largely flat, reflecting the cautious sentiment across the broader renewable energy and power market.
