Sabanci Noon Energy ultra-LDES project

Ultra-long duration energy storage (ultra-LDES) firm Noon Energy has announced an ultra-LDES joint agreement with Austin, Texas-based Sabanci Renewables, the American arm of Turkish conglomerate Sabanci Holdings.

The deal aims to provide Sabanci’s AI infrastructure with 100% renewables energy around the clock, Noon officials say. The companies plan to co-develop ultra-LDES projects which integrate Noon Energy’s reversible electrofuel battery systems. Those systems will go into Sabanci’s renewable project portfolio to deliver completely renewable firm power for AI data centers and other infrastructure.

“Partnering with an established and forward-thinking company like Sabanci Renewables marks a critical step in accelerating the path to commercialization for our ultra-LDES technology,” says Chris Graves, CEO of Noon Energy. “In this cooperation we will develop the commercial, technical, and operational frameworks to unlock a 100% reliable and renewable grid for cents per kWh using multi-day energy storage.”

The new projects will be structured as either power purchase agreements or capacity offtake agreements, going up to a total of 1 GW, Noon Energy representatives say. The extent of the joint effort “highlights the rapidly accelerating market demand for ultra-LDES needed to integrate large-scale solar and wind resources,” especially in support for AI infrastructure.

Exploring greater project opportunities

As of August 2026, Sabanci Renewables is targeting a 3 GW portfolio of renewable energy projects in the U.S. in the next five years. Together, the projects would “significantly contribute” to the company’s total capacity goal with renewable firm power.

Murat Oguz Arcan, chief growth officer of Sabanci Renewables and managing director of Sabanci Climate Ventures, says his company is thrilled to work with Noon on these projects. Additionally, he says the companies’ collaboration will open new investment opportunities for the Turkish firm.

“We believe that supporting the growth of AI through innovative power solutions is essential to enabling timely, sustainable growth,” Arcan says. “By bridging Noon Energy’s ultra long duration energy storage technology with Sabanci Renewables’ renewable energy expertise, we aim to contribute to the development of the clean, reliable, and scalable energy infrastructure that the AI economy will require.”

The two companies will work collaboratively to explore commercial, technical, and operational frameworks for the new projects, officials say. While Noon focuses on manufacturing and ultra-LDES scaling, Sabanci Renewables will provide “development insights and capital expertise” for the projects.
