Hopewind is strengthening its position in India’s renewable energy market, ranking among the country’s top three inverter suppliers in Q2 2026, according to JMK Research. The company ranked third in both India’s central inverter and total inverter shipments during the quarter, accounting for 24% and 12% of shipments, respectively, with its overall market share increasing by 4% quarter-on-quarter. This performance reflects Hopewind’s growing presence in the Indian inverter market.

A Stronger Position in a Changing Market

Hopewind’s performance comes against the backdrop of a 35% quarter-on-quarter decline in India’s overall inverter shipments in Q2 2026. The decline followed exceptionally strong market activity in Q1, resulting in a significant quarter-on-quarter slowdown. Against this backdrop, Hopewind increased its market share, strengthening its position even as overall inverter shipments declined.

According to Hopewind, its growing presence in India is supported by several factors, including the strength of its local team and leadership, a competitive and reliable product portfolio, focused customer engagement and market development, and dedicated technical and customer support in India.

Addressing India’s Evolving Market Needs

Hopewind is addressing the evolving requirements of India’s renewable energy market through its utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) photovoltaic solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and grid-forming technologies. India’s renewable energy capacity reached approximately 288 GW by the end of June 2026, while around 19 GW of utility-scale solar capacity was added during H1 2026.

As renewable energy projects in India continue to scale, customers increasingly require inverter suppliers that can combine reliable performance with strong local support and the ability to meet the technical requirements of large-scale projects. Hopewind said it is addressing these needs through its inverter portfolio and advanced power conversion technology, supported by growing technical and after-sales capabilities in India.

According to the company, this combination enables it to provide customers with technology and local support throughout the project lifecycle.

Growing Customer Engagement and Project Business

According to Hopewind, the company continues to see strong business momentum and growing customer engagement across India. The company said it has witnessed increasing adoption of its inverter solutions among independent power producers (IPPs), EPC companies, and C&I customers.

Hopewind also stated that its expanding customer base, order pipeline, and continued engagement with industry stakeholders reflect its growing footprint in India. The company said its business is progressing across both utility-scale and C&I segments, supported by its product portfolio, technical capabilities, and increasing localization of customer support.

Strategic Outlook for India

With India continuing to expand its renewable energy capacity, Hopewind sees significant potential to further strengthen its presence in the market. According to the company, its position in the central inverter segment, increased overall market share, growing customer base, and expanding project experience provide a foundation for its next stage of development in India.

Commenting on Hopewind’s outlook for the Indian market, Mr. Sunil Panigrahi, Country Head of Hopewind India, said, “We see significant opportunities in India’s rapidly evolving renewable energy market and are committed to pursuing an ambitious growth strategy. Our focus will remain on delivering reliable, high-performance solutions, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding our local capabilities to support the evolving requirements of India’s renewable energy industry.”
