NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPCREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has invited bids for an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) package for a 1,000 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project in Kambadur, Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.
The project will comprise two 500 MW solar PV installations, with a combined capacity of 1,000 MW. The tender has been issued under Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. NRE-CS-5852-004(EPC)-9 and ETS Search Code NTPCREL-2026-TN000039. The procurement will be carried out through domestic competitive bidding.
NTPCREL issued the abridged Invitation for Bids on September 29, 2026. The bidding process will follow a Single Stage Two Envelope system. Under this process, bidders will submit a Techno-Commercial Bid in Envelope I and a Price Bid in Envelope II. The process will subsequently include a Reverse Auction for selection of the successful EPC contractor.
The detailed tender documents, containing the complete technical specifications, commercial conditions, eligibility requirements, and other bidding terms, are scheduled to be available from October 15, 2026. Interested bidders can access the documents through the NTPC tender portal and the official NTPC website.
The abridged notice does not specify the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD), Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG), or final bid submission deadlines. These details will be provided in the complete bidding documents scheduled for release on October 15.
The selected EPC contractor will be responsible for the end-to-end development and commissioning of the solar project. The scope includes design and engineering, procurement and supply of equipment, tracker-based Module Mounting Structure (MMS) erection, PV module installation, power conditioning units, LT and HT switchgear, and inverter stations.
The contractor will also undertake civil and balance-of-system works at the project site. These will include site preparation, drainage systems, perimeter fencing, internal approach roads, and other associated infrastructure required for project execution.
The project will feature dedicated Central Monitoring and Control Stations equipped with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The scope also includes cloud-cover weather monitoring stations and 100% periphery CCTV surveillance to support plant monitoring and security.
In addition, the EPC package requires the installation of dynamic reactive power compensation equipment in compliance with applicable grid regulations. The contractor will provide a dry module cleaning system and undertake grid-interfacing works at the 400 kV level.
A major component of the project is the development of an approximately 60 km transmission line. The transmission infrastructure will evacuate power generated by the solar project to the substation provided by APNHAL.
Following commissioning, the selected contractor will also be responsible for supplying required spare parts and providing operation and maintenance services for three years. The O&M scope will cover plant equipment and consumables during the post-commissioning period.
Interested bidders can seek clarifications from NTPCREL’s Contract Services team at its Greater Noida corporate facility through the contact details provided in the tender documents.
