Maxis, Malaysia’s leading integrated telecommunications company, has announced the nationwide expansion of its Maxis Home Solar solution, aiming to accelerate residential adoption of renewable energy. The offering, initially launched in the Klang Valley in late 2024, will now be available to households across Peninsular Malaysia starting May 2025.

The Maxis Home Solar solution offers a convenient subscription model, enabling homeowners to install solar energy systems with a low upfront cost of RM1,000. The package includes solar panels, inverters, installation, maintenance, and proactive system monitoring. Customers also benefit from 24/7 support, comprehensive warranty coverage, and solar insurance.

Patrick Er, Director of Maxis Green Solutions Sdn Bhd and Chief People and Transformation Officer at Maxis, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and customer-centric innovation.

“We are excited to enable more households in Malaysia to access solar energy through this worry-free subscription service. Our aim is to bring green energy adoption into the mainstream, backed by our proven experience in services, sales, and customer satisfaction spanning 30 years in the subscription business,” said Er. “With Maxis Home Solar, we are confident of delivering a seamless, sustainable and rewarding experience to customers.”

Following encouraging feedback from early adopters, Maxis will extend the service to both Maxis and non-Maxis customers by the end of 2025. The system is designed to help users save up to 25% on electricity bills from the first day, while offering protection against future increases in energy costs.

The solar packages are tailored based on home size and electricity usage, with flexible payment models—either a fixed monthly fee or payments based on energy generated.

Targeted at Malaysia’s expanding pool of landed residential properties, Maxis Home Solar forms part of the company’s broader strategy to integrate sustainability into its digital and home service offerings. With a subscriber base of 10.4 million and over 780,000 homes already served, Maxis is leveraging its extensive reach and customer service expertise to support Malaysia’s goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
