Constant Energy (CE), a leading renewable energy company in Asia, has partnered with ERS Energy Sdn Bhd for the development of a 52 MW large-scale solar project in Kampung Gajah, Malaysia, following its award under the Large-Scale Solar Round 5 (LSS5) programme.
Under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement, ERS Energy will be responsible for the design, procurement and construction of the solar facility. The partnership combines Constant Energy’s regional development capabilities with ERS Energy’s experience in delivering utility-scale solar projects in Malaysia, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient project execution. The EPC contract was finalised in late 2025.
Commenting on the partnership, Franck Constant, CEO and Founder of Constant Energy, said the collaboration reflects the company’s strategy of working with strong local partners to accelerate renewable energy deployment in Malaysia. He noted that the two companies have engaged since the LSS3 round and expressed confidence in achieving energisation in early 2027.
Alex Lum, Executive Director of ERS Energy, said the partnership will leverage ERS Energy’s engineering expertise and regional knowledge to deliver the Kampung Gajah project safely, efficiently and to high quality standards.
The Kampung Gajah solar project was awarded under Malaysia’s LSS5 programme, launched by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) in April 2024. LSS5 has a total target capacity of 2,000 MWac, making it the largest solar quota released to date and a key component of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims for 70 percent renewable energy generation by 2050.
Once operational, the 52 MW plant is expected to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, lower carbon emissions and enhance Malaysia’s energy security. The project is also anticipated to support local economic activity through job creation during construction and long-term operations and maintenance.
Constant Energy said strong local partnerships remain central to its strategy as Malaysia continues to scale up renewable energy capacity, positioning the company to deliver sustainable energy solutions across the region.
