GAIL (India) Limited, the state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company, has issued a tender for setting up a 17.5 MW (AC) floating solar photovoltaic grid-connected power plant at its facility in Pata, located in the Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.

The tender was officially floated on April 21, 2025, and invites participation from eligible bidders through a single-stage bidding process. The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar plant, along with the development of the power evacuation system.

The successful bidder will also be required to undertake the operation and maintenance of the plant for three years following the successful completion of the Operational Acceptance Test.

In addition to the EPC responsibilities, the selected contractor must provide a Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC) for critical equipment for a period of 10 years after the Operational Acceptance Test is completed. The tender documents, which contain detailed information regarding technical specifications and other requirements, are available on the GAIL tender website, the Central Public Procurement Portal, the Government e-Procurement System of the National Informatics Center, and the Government e-Market (GeM) Portal.

A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for May 1, 2025, and will be conducted through video conferencing. Interested bidders are required to submit their proposals by May 20, 2025, no later than 1400 Hrs IST. The unpriced bids will be opened the following day, May 21, 2025, at 1500 Hrs via video conferencing. To participate in the bidding process, an Earnest Money Deposit of ₹77.52 Lakhs is required. All submissions must strictly comply with the terms and conditions laid out in the official tender documents.
