The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has extended the tariff order dated June 11, 2024, for solar power projects, including Solar Rooftop Photovoltaic (SRTPV) projects, from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025. The original order was issued for the determination of tariffs and norms for solar power projects for the financial year 2024–25. As the Commission is in the process of determining the generic tariff for solar power projects for the financial year 2025–26, this extension has been put in place to ensure continuity and avoid delays for new installations.
The Commission observed that many solar rooftop projects have been commissioned from April 1, 2025, and are awaiting Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) tariffs. To address this gap, KERC has ordered that the tariffs specified in the June 11, 2024, order will remain applicable during the interim period until a new tariff order is issued. This decision aims to provide clarity and support to project developers and consumers who have installed solar systems during this time.
The extension order was signed and officially issued by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission on June 16, 2025, ensuring regulatory continuity for stakeholders involved in solar energy projects across the state.
