Panasonic Industrial Devices Vietnam Co., Ltd. (PIDVN) has reported annual savings of nearly VND 2.5 billion in electricity costs, thanks to a comprehensive energy efficiency strategy that combines employee awareness, process improvements, and advanced technologies.
Established in April 2006, PIDVN specializes in producing electromechanical components such as signal receivers, miniature speakers, and variable resistors. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, zero-defect manufacturing, and environmental responsibility, the company has embedded sustainability at the core of its operations.
To meet national regulations and internal sustainability goals, PIDVN has adopted the Law on Energy Efficiency and Conservation by establishing a dedicated Energy Management Board. This board is responsible for overseeing energy policies, conducting regular audits (most recently in October 2021), and identifying areas for improvement.
Technological upgrades have been central to the company’s energy-saving success. Inverters installed in AHU air conditioning systems have reduced energy consumption by 336,336 kWh/year, while enhancements to the exhaust duct system have saved an additional 86,400 kWh/year. Other initiatives include optimizing HVAC systems, using high-efficiency vacuum pumps, improving insulation with partitions, installing motion sensors, and deploying solar energy systems.
PIDVN also utilizes Panasonic’s proprietary Energy Management System software to automate and monitor energy usage across various operations. With electronic meters tracking area-wise consumption, energy managers are able to fine-tune performance and ensure real-time adjustments.
As a result of these efforts, PIDVN has successfully reduced its annual energy consumption by over 1.1 million kWh—cutting usage from 9.74 million kWh to 8.54 million kWh.
Looking ahead, the company plans to further enhance its energy-saving performance by upgrading chiller exhaust systems, optimizing air conditioning loads, improving water pipeline cooling systems, and expanding solar capacity.
With these forward-thinking initiatives, PIDVN continues to set a benchmark in industrial sustainability, reinforcing its commitment to cost efficiency, environmental protection, and long-term operational resilience.
