Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emerge, the joint venture between Masdar and EDF Power Solutions, to expand renewable energy adoption across the emirate’s industrial and business sectors. The agreement was formalised during the second edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Summit (RAKIS), held in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah.

The MoU aims to accelerate clean energy deployment within the RAKEZ ecosystem, supporting projects such as solar power generation, energy storage systems, and hybrid energy solutions. These initiatives align with the UAE’s clean energy agenda and Ras Al Khaimah’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040.

The agreement was signed by Yaser Abdullah Al Ahmed, Chief Government & Corporate Relations Officer at RAKEZ, and Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge. The signing was witnessed by Luc Koechlin, CEO of EDF Power Solutions Middle East, and Ali Alshimmari, Emerge Board Director.

Ramy Jallad, CEO of RAKEZ, said the partnership highlights the economic zone’s continued efforts to integrate sustainable practices across its operations.
“We are proud to collaborate with Emerge, a home-grown renewable energy leader supported by Masdar and EDF power solutions,” he said. “This partnership reflects our commitment to helping clients grow while reducing environmental impact.”

Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge, said the collaboration strengthens the company’s mission to deliver practical and impactful clean energy solutions.
“Together with RAKEZ, we are enabling a more competitive, efficient, and environmentally responsible industrial ecosystem,” he noted. “This supports economic growth while advancing the UAE’s long-term sustainability goals.”

The partnership reinforces Ras Al Khaimah’s broader strategy to foster a resilient, green economy. RAKEZ continues to pursue initiatives and strategic collaborations that support the emirate’s sustainability vision and promote innovation in clean energy technologies.
