SAEL Industries Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to invest ₹22,000 crore in renewable energy and infrastructure projects, including large-scale solar and battery storage developments.

According to the agreement, the company plans to set up over 1,750 MW of solar power and battery energy storage systems in the Kadapa and Kurnool districts. The projects will be implemented through a tender-based process in line with state regulations.

The investment also extends to biomass energy, data centres, and port infrastructure. The state government expects the projects to generate around 7,000 direct and 70,000 indirect jobs.

The MoU, valid for 12 months, will pave the way for the release of tender documents and formal bidding by eligible companies. The initiative supports India’s broader goals for renewable energy expansion and grid stability, with an increasing focus on integrating solar-plus-storage solutions for dispatchable clean power.

Officials noted that the inclusion of large-scale battery storage marks a shift towards improving reliability in renewable energy supply and reinforces Andhra Pradesh’s position as a leading clean-energy investment destination.

Further details on Request for Proposals (RfPs) and implementation timelines are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
