The Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy has announced a rolling expression of interest (EOI) to empanel experts and consultants for inspecting various bio-energy plants. This initiative aims to create a panel of qualified professionals capable of conducting inspections across multiple bio-energy sectors. These sectors include biogas, bio-compressed natural gas (Bio-CNG), briquettes, pellets, and co-generation plants.
The EOI is open to individuals with the necessary qualifications and relevant experience in the bioenergy field. It is being conducted on a rolling basis, allowing applications to be submitted at any time until the institute decides otherwise. Despite this continuous submission process, there is an immediate requirement for experts. The first evaluation of applications is scheduled for October 15, 2025, and candidates wishing to be considered for this initial review must submit their applications by October 14, 2025, at 5:30 PM. Applications received after this deadline will be considered for subsequent evaluations.
The institute has outlined the remuneration structure for these inspection services. Experts inspecting biomass pellet, briquette, and co-generation plants will receive $12,000 per inspection, which includes the submission of a timely performance report. For biogas or Bio-CNG plants, the fee is $12,000 per day, with a maximum limit of $25,000 per plant inspection. The EOI document does not mention any requirement for an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG), making the process simpler for applicants.
Eligibility criteria for applicants are clearly defined. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science discipline. In addition, they should have a minimum of ten years of experience in the bioenergy sector. The expected skill set includes expertise in plant operations, adherence to safety regulations, and knowledge of quality standards. This ensures that only highly qualified professionals are empaneled to maintain the operational and safety standards of the bio-energy plants under inspection.
Selected experts will be empaneled for a period of two years, subject to a yearly review and satisfactory performance. The institute retains the right to modify, cancel, or reissue the EOI as needed. All information submitted by applicants becomes the property of the institute and will not be returned, highlighting the importance of providing accurate and complete information during the application process.
This rolling EOI presents an opportunity for experienced professionals in the bioenergy sector to contribute their expertise in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of India’s bio-energy plants. With the immediate need for experts and clear guidelines on remuneration and eligibility, the initiative is likely to attract seasoned professionals capable of supporting the growth and sustainability of the bioenergy industry in the country. The Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy continues to strengthen its focus on maintaining high standards in bio-energy operations through this structured and transparent empanelment process.
The initiative underscores the importance of skilled professionals in advancing bio-energy projects, promoting operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with technical and safety norms, thereby contributing to the broader development of renewable energy infrastructure in India.
