Sichuan Yingfa Ruineng Technology Co., Ltd. has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), marking a new chapter in its commitment to sustainability. This step highlights the company’s intent to integrate sustainable development principles into its core business strategy and use innovation to drive progress in the photovoltaic (PV) industry. Yingfa Ruineng aims to support the transition to a more efficient, low-carbon future in line with global climate and energy goals.
The UN Global Compact, founded in 2000 by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, is the largest and most recognized corporate sustainability initiative in the world. It encourages businesses to adopt and implement ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. The Compact also supports the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030. Today, it includes participation from thousands of companies and organizations across more than 160 countries.
By becoming a UNGC participant, Yingfa Ruineng is aligning itself with these global standards and demonstrating its dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values. The company plans to strengthen ESG efforts across its operations and contribute more actively to a sustainable and low-carbon supply chain within the photovoltaic sector.
Yingfa Ruineng plays a key role in China’s solar power industry, focusing on the research, development, and large-scale production of high-efficiency solar cells. These are used in a wide range of applications, from utility-scale solar farms to commercial and residential distributed solar systems. The company’s technology portfolio includes advanced cell designs such as PERC, TOPCon, and back-contact (BC), supported by high-quality silicon ingot production through Czochralski technology. These innovations are aimed at improving solar cell efficiency and reducing the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE).
Yingfa Ruineng President Zhang Min, stated, “Joining the UNGC marks an important milestone in Yingfa Ruineng’s path toward globalization. We recognize that long-term success lies not only in outstanding business performance, but also in the positive impact a company makes on the environment and society. Moving forward, we will continue to raise our internal standards and integrate sustainability into every facet of our operations.”
In response to both global carbon neutrality goals and China’s own “dual carbon” targets, Yingfa Ruineng is advancing its efforts in green technology and intelligent manufacturing. The company continues to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions throughout its production processes. With its UNGC membership, Yingfa Ruineng is expected to further refine its sustainable supply chain practices and deepen its research into renewable energy applications.
As the global energy system rapidly evolves, Yingfa Ruineng sees its UNGC participation as a valuable opportunity to enhance its capabilities and collaborate with international partners. Through this engagement, the company is committed to contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future that brings the benefits of renewable power to a wider population.
