NHPC Limited, a Government of India Navratna enterprise, has invited bids for major electrical infrastructure works associated with the 1200 MW Solar Power Park being developed in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The tender has been issued on behalf of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), a joint venture between NHPC and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

The project focuses on strengthening power evacuation infrastructure from the solar park and includes the construction and commissioning of three 33/400 kV pooling substations. NHPC released the Notice Inviting e-Tender (NIT) on June 18, 2026, under a domestic competitive bidding process. The estimated value of the contract is approximately INR 379.25 crore, including GST.

The bidding process will be conducted through an open e-procurement system and follows a single-stage, two-part format. The first cover will contain qualification and technical documents, while the second cover will include the financial bid. Companies interested in participating must meet specific eligibility requirements, including an average annual turnover of at least INR 200.87 crore during the previous two financial years and a minimum working capital of INR 31.6 crore.

According to the tender schedule, the notice was published on June 18, 2026, and document downloads began the same day. Interested bidders can submit queries until June 27, while a pre-bid conference has been scheduled for July 2 at the NHPC Office Complex in Faridabad, Haryana. Online bid submission will commence on July 7 and close on July 13, 2026. Supporting offline documents must be submitted by July 14, and the technical bids are scheduled to be opened on July 15.

To participate in the tender, bidders are required to pay a non-refundable tender fee of INR 10,000 through a demand draft in favor of NHPC Limited. In addition, an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 3.8 crore has been prescribed as bid security. The tender also includes provisions related to Performance Bank Guarantees. If a subsidiary company relies on the technical or financial credentials of its parent company for qualification, it will be required to furnish an additional Performance Bank Guarantee equivalent to 5% of the contract value, apart from the standard guarantee requirements.

The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the date of commencement. All online bids must be submitted through the Central Public Procurement Portal, while physical documents, including the tender fee and EMD, must reach NHPC’s Contract (E&M)-II Division office in Faridabad within the stipulated deadline. The initiative is expected to play a key role in enabling efficient power evacuation from one of Uttar Pradesh’s largest solar power developments.
