POY 2026

Solar Builder is now accepting nominations for the Solar Builder Canada Project of the Year Awards. The deadline for submission is Nov. 20, 2026.

Solar Builder seeks to highlight the most outstanding Canadian PV projects in the solar industry each year. Was the design and installation innovative? Did it overcome a challenge in a novel way? Did it help a community? Any inventive, interesting, or impactful PV project — big or small — is eligible. We just need you to tell us about them.

The 2026 Project of the Year Awards is sponsored by Aurora Solar. Check out the 2025 Aurora Solar Snapshot

Eligible projects must be located in North America. Construction and installation must be completed between Dec. 1, 2025, and Nov. 4, 2026. And permission to operate must be expected by Dec. 31, 2026.

Last year was the inaugural year for Solar Builder‘s Canadian Project of the Year.

What happens next?

Once submissions are in, Solar Builder editors will select a field of finalists from the nominations based on merit and meeting eligibility requirements. Readers will then cast their votes for their favorite projects in November. The top vote getters will be featured in Solar Builder Canada.

Pro tips: The more information you provide, the better. Sell us on it — because what you submit will also be used in the online vote. And remember, this is a publication for solar pros — so nerdy project engineering insight is welcome and encouraged. Great photos and YouTube videos are also a nice touch.

Those are the details. The form is below. Good luck!
