Canadian Solar announced that the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued Final Written Decisions that invalidate all claims in two TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) solar cell patents.

These patents had been asserted by Trina Solar against certain Canadian Solar subsidiaries in an earlier dispute.The decision marks an important legal outcome for Canadian Solar, reinforcing the company’s strong global track record in managing and resolving international intellectual property challenges.
