Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a Government of India public sector enterprise, has invited sealed two-bid tenders for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 1 MWp grid-connected rooftop solar power plant at its facility in Cochin. The project will be executed on a turnkey basis and aims to strengthen the company’s use of renewable energy.

The solar power plant will be installed across the rooftops of various shops within the CSL premises, where the structures are up to approximately 25 meters high. The selected contractor will be responsible for supplying all required materials and carrying out the complete installation, testing, and commissioning of the system to ensure its successful operation.

The estimated Probable Amount of Contract (PAC) for the project is Rs. 4,37,26,157. Bidders interested in participating must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 1,00,000 through NEFT or RTGS to the bank account specified by CSL. The Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) and other execution requirements will be governed by the Special and General Terms and Conditions provided in the tender document, and successful bidders must comply with all specified performance obligations.

The bidding process requires contractors to submit their proposals in two separate envelopes. Cover 1 will contain the Technical Bid, while Cover 2 will include the Price Bid. Before submitting their bids, interested contractors are required to attend a preliminary site study scheduled for August 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The site visit is intended to help bidders assess the project conditions, as no additional claims or costs beyond the quoted bid value will be accepted later.

The tender was issued on July 31, 2026. The last date for submission of bids is August 31, 2026, by 2:00 PM, while the technical bids will be opened on September 1, 2026, at 2:30 PM. CSL has specified a project completion period of 270 days from the award of the contract. Any queries related to the tender may be addressed to Malavika S, Deputy Manager (MRS), who has been designated as the Officer-in-Charge for the project.
