The latest Sinovoltaics PV Inverter Manufacturer Ranking Report (Edition 3 – 2026) highlights the financial health of more than 30 leading solar inverter manufacturers worldwide, offering valuable insights for project developers, investors, EPC companies, and asset owners. The report evaluates publicly available financial data collected between September 2023 and June 2026 using the widely recognized Altman Z-Score model, which measures a company’s financial stability and estimates the likelihood of insolvency over the next two years.

Financial strength has become an increasingly important consideration in the renewable energy sector because the long-term reliability of equipment warranties often depends on the financial stability of manufacturers. If a company faces financial distress or bankruptcy, customers may encounter difficulties in securing warranty support or after-sales services, making financial assessments an essential part of procurement decisions.

The report classifies manufacturers into three financial categories based on their Altman Z-Scores. Companies with scores of 2.6 or above are placed in the Safe Zone, indicating strong financial stability. Scores between 1.1 and 2.6 fall into the Grey Zone, representing moderate financial risk, while scores of 1.1 or below are categorized in the Distress Zone, signaling a higher probability of financial challenges.

According to the June 2026 rankings, 18 inverter manufacturers qualified for the Safe Zone, slightly down from 20 companies in the previous edition. Delta Electronics secured the top position with an impressive Altman Z-Score of 11.44, demonstrating exceptional financial strength. KSTAR ranked second with a score of 8.08, while APsystems and Sinexcel both recorded scores of 6.84. Hoymiles Power Electronics followed with 5.50, ahead of Eaton at 4.73 and Sungrow at 3.85. Other financially stable companies included Hopewind Electric with a score of 3.81, Jiuzhou Electric at 3.58, and East Group, which returned to the Safe Zone with a score of 2.64 after fluctuating in earlier quarters.

Several well-known global manufacturers were placed in the Grey Zone, suggesting moderate financial risk despite remaining above immediate insolvency concerns. Siemens led this category with a score of 2.52, followed by Enphase Energy at 2.42 and SMA Solar Technology at 2.36. Other companies in this group included Senyuan with 1.65, TBEA with 1.51, and Chint Power with 1.41. While these companies continue to operate with reasonable financial stability, their lower scores indicate smaller financial safety margins compared to the Safe Zone leaders.

The report also identified four manufacturers in the Distress Zone. Shanghai Electric Group recorded a score of 0.83, followed closely by CLOU Electronics at 0.80. SolarEdge received a score of 0.40, reflecting a notable decline in financial performance compared to previous assessments. SolarBridge (SunPower) ranked last with a negative score of -1.54, indicating the highest level of financial risk among all companies evaluated.

The Altman Z-Score used in the report is calculated using five key financial ratios, including working capital to total assets, retained earnings to total assets, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) to total assets, market value of equity to total liabilities, and sales to total assets. By tracking these indicators across multiple reporting periods, the Sinovoltaics ranking provides stakeholders with an independent financial benchmark that supports informed purchasing decisions, investment planning, and long-term risk management within the global solar industry.
