KP Human Development Foundation, the philanthropic arm of KP Group, has partnered with PP Savani University to launch the ‘Urja Noor’ Scholarship Programme, an initiative aimed at enabling underprivileged students to pursue education in renewable energy and allied fields.

The programme was unveiled on the 55th birthday of Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group. It offers fully funded educational support, covering tuition fees, hostel accommodation, meals, and transportation for students enrolled in B.Tech and diploma programmes.

Designed to bridge the accessibility gap in technical education, the scholarship also seeks to create a skilled workforce aligned with the growing demands of the clean energy sector. Currently, 92 students have already benefited from the initiative. The programme is set to scale further, targeting a total of 120 beneficiaries this year.

Notably, the initiative has extended its reach internationally, with 30 students from Botswana included under the current cohort. This aligns with KP Group’s expanding footprint in the region, where it is reportedly investing up to $4 billion in energy-related developments.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Faruk G. Patel emphasised the organisation’s commitment to empowering students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. He highlighted that the objective extends beyond financial assistance to nurturing talent and building a robust renewable energy workforce for India.

The programme adopts an inclusive approach, ensuring access to education and career opportunities without barriers related to religion, caste, or social background. In addition to academic support, it focuses on long-term financial stability and career readiness for students.

Sneh Savani, Managing Director of PP Savani University, noted that the initiative is designed not only to provide education but also to ensure employability and income generation opportunities post-graduation. The collaboration reflects a broader vision of integrating education with livelihood outcomes.

Dr. Parag Sanghani, Provost at the university, added that the programme aims to develop skilled engineers equipped to contribute to the sustainable energy sector, reinforcing the institution’s focus on combining technical expertise with societal impact.

Beyond classroom learning, the Urja Noor Scholarship incorporates industry exposure, mentorship, and defined employment pathways within the renewable energy domain. The KP Human Development Foundation will continue to provide guidance and support throughout the students’ academic journey.

The initiative represents a strategic step toward building a talent pipeline capable of supporting India’s clean energy transition, while simultaneously uplifting communities through education and skill development.
