Navgrun has announced plans to establish 1.2 GW of annual manufacturing capacity for TOPCon G12R solar wafers and solar cells in India. The proposed facility is intended to strengthen the company’s integrated solar manufacturing capabilities and complement its existing 700 MW TOPCon G12R solar module manufacturing facility.

Subject to project execution and commissioning, the planned facility is expected to manufacture TOPCon G12R solar wafers, TOPCon G12R solar cells, advanced solar modules and Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions.

The planned expansion would integrate wafer, cell and module manufacturing within Navgrun’s manufacturing ecosystem. The company said the move is aimed at strengthening domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and supply chain resilience while supporting India’s renewable energy and domestic manufacturing objectives.

The proposed 1.2 GW capacity represents an expansion of Navgrun’s existing solar manufacturing operations and is expected to broaden its product portfolio across different stages of the photovoltaic value chain.

Navgrun said the planned manufacturing expansion will focus on advanced TOPCon technology, operational efficiency and sustainable growth as the company expands its presence in India’s solar manufacturing sector.
