NTPC Limited has announced the commercial operation of two additional capacities at the Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. According to regulatory disclosures submitted to the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited, the second and third part capacities of the project, with capacities of 73.06 MW and 80.88 MW respectively, became commercially operational from 00:00 hours on October 1, 2026.

The Kalasar Solar Energy Project forms part of a larger 650 MW solar component being developed under the 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock (RTC) Project. The project is being implemented by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited through NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL).

Following the commissioning of the two capacities, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 91,456 MW, while its overall commercial capacity has reached 90,376 MW.

The latest commissioning has also increased the renewable energy portfolio of NTPC Green Energy Limited. Its total installed capacity has risen to 11,212.51 MW, while commercial capacity stands at 11,058.57 MW.

The company stated the development through regulatory filings made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. The disclosures were signed by Company Secretaries Ritu Arora on behalf of NTPC Limited and Deepak C S on behalf of NTPC Green Energy Limited.

The commissioning marks another addition to NTPC’s expanding solar portfolio and supports the company’s broader efforts to increase renewable energy capacity across India.
