NTPC Limited has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with the commercial commissioning of the first phase of its 225 MW GSECL Renewable Energy Park Khavda Solar PV Project in Gujarat. The company announced the development through regulatory filings submitted to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
According to the filing signed by Company Secretary Ritu Arora, a capacity of 64.76 MW has commenced commercial operations through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited operating under NTPC Green Energy Limited. The commercial operation date became effective from 12:00 a.m. on July 24, 2026.
The commissioning of this initial capacity represents another milestone in NTPC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio and support India’s clean energy transition. With the addition of the new solar capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has increased to 91,030 MW, while its total commercial capacity has reached 89,950 MW.
In a separate regulatory disclosure, NTPC Green Energy Limited also informed the stock exchanges about the impact of the commissioning on its own operational capacity. The filing, signed by Company Secretary Deepak C. S., stated that the group’s commercial capacity has increased from 10,721.80 MW to 10,786.56 MW following the commissioning of the 64.76 MW solar project at Khavda.
The Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat is one of India’s major renewable energy hubs and plays an important role in the country’s plans to expand clean power generation. The latest commissioning is part of NTPC’s broader strategy to develop large-scale solar and renewable energy projects across the country.
Both NTPC Limited and NTPC Green Energy Limited submitted the disclosures to the stock exchanges to keep investors, shareholders, and regulators informed about the progress of the project and the resulting increase in their operational renewable energy capacity.
