Rick Brunelle knew he had to do something about his electric bills. With 6 adults living in his Amesbury, MA house, his average monthly electric bill was over $600. He started looking into solar and met with five companies, all of whom said they couldn’t do anything about the tax credit, which had expired at the end of 2025. Even without the tax credit savings the numbers still worked out for Rick, so he was prepared to move forward with one of their proposals. Then he met with ReVision Energy’s Solar Designer Marc Deluca, who told him about our Amicus PowerPath program, an Energy Services Agreement that leverage the commercial tax credit to offer homeowners savings of 20-30%.

“While everyone else was quoting me $60,000+ on a whole-house solar system & lamenting the fact that I could no longer get the residential federal solar tax credit, ReVision figured out a way to structure the deal for their residential customers so that they get savings that are close to the solar tax credit. This was true genius on their part and saved us almost $20,000 on the deal.”
Rick is a lawyer so he dug into the details of PowerPath.
“Marc walked me through the cost structure, and I realized that this is just such a smart program! PowerPath captures the commercial tax credit and passes that savings onto me, so I pay $42,000 instead of $60,000. And when I get my REC credits in year 6-20, that brings down the overall cost of the system to $37,000. Economically, it’s just so much better.”
Out of Six Solar Companies, Why ReVision?
Rick immediately appreciated Marc’s straightforward, mission-driven approach.
Check out ReVision’s corporate philosophy – employee-owned, 22 years in business (unlike the other companies we brought in, we can trust that they’ll be there as needed) & they truly believe in clean energy, like us. They care about each other, they care about their clients, and they care about the environment. Win-Win-Win.
Rick Brunelle’s 5-star Google Review, Amesbury, MA
“Marc was great, very informative. I talked to him about the mission of the company. He answered so many of the questions I had about net metering and how it works. Marc came back with the numbers and they were realistic – my roof isn’t perfect, it has some shading. I work with the real estate industry a lot, and I see people promise pie-in-the-sky numbers just because they want the sale. I realized that Marc was being open and honest about my production estimates.”
Rick started comparing the quotes more closely. The warranty from the other company was vague, and they hadn’t been in business as long as ReVision.
“If a company goes out of business, it doesn’t matter if they have a great warranty. I’m a lawyer, I’ve seen this happen before,” said Rick. “ReVision’s warranty was much firmer and clearer.” Rick also appreciated the overall mission and structure of 100% employee-owned ReVision Energy.
“Marc’s philosophy aligned with mine and aligned with the mission statement of ReVision – the primary motivator with ReVision is that they believe in their product and want to make a difference in the world. There’s a lot integrity there and I felt really good about it.”
In 20 Days He’s Already Saved $400
Rick’s solar array went online October 7th, so his October 27th bill from National Grid only reflected 20 days of production. In that time, his bill has already dropped by $400.
“It’s stunning to me that I’m saving that much money. It’s literally only been 20 days and I’ve saved $400! When I crunch the numbers on that, the ROI is 16.2%. And that’s not even taking into account energy rate inflation.” Rick is a bit of a numbers guy; he dug into the economics of the project.
“Based on our energy use, our whole-house system will pay back our initial investment in 5.5 years (incredible), and because we will be saving over $5,500 a year and plan on conservatively investing the bulk of those savings, we have turned a liability into an asset that will grow exponentially over the years. This is especially meaningful when you consider that energy will likely inflate in future years.”
Aesthetically Pleasing and Professional
The look of the solar array was also important to the Brunelles – they didn’t want a lot of wiring running down the side of their house. ReVision’s installation crew of employee-owners consulted with Rick, answered his questions, and ultimately came up with a beautiful design for his house.

“The crew was wonderful,” says Rick. “When I came home on the day they did it, I couldn’t believe that I had all these panels on my roof but couldn’t even see the conduit. It’s like a work of art! It actually improves the overall look of the home. My wife and I wanted a sleek modern design and they gave us exactly that – we could not be happier.”
“The install team was absolutely professional. Really personable guys, quality people. Everybody at ReVision has been really good. Not only do they know what they’re doing but they know what they’re talking about, so I have confidence that if I ever call ReVision I will get people who are professional and provide amazing customer service.”
And Another Perk – the Resale Value
Rick also realizes that even if he doesn’t live in that house for the 25-year lifespan of the solar array, he will instantly make his investment back when he sells the house.
“We’ll probably get our $40K investment back upon resale,” he said. “When I go to sell this home, I have records and bills that show exactly how much I’m saving. I’ll not only get my money back, I’ll get significantly more. It’s such a win-win-win, you’re winning every way you look at it!”
We live in a world where you don’t often have people who meet your expectations – and in fact often they fail miserably – so when a company comes in like ReVision did, flying exponentially past what I expected, it felt so good. We sincerely believe that our decision to go solar and partner with ReVision will likely prove to be one of the smartest financial moves we’ve made over the years. We could not be happier – thank you ReVision for all you’ve done for us.
