SLR Solar has inaugurated an 800-MW TOPCon solar module manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan, strengthening India’s growing domestic solar manufacturing capacity and supporting the country’s renewable energy localisation ambitions.
The fully automated and AI-enabled manufacturing plant will produce advanced TOPCon glass-to-glass solar PV modules designed for utility-scale and commercial solar applications. Commercial production at the facility is expected to begin by February 2026.
According to the company, the plant has been developed with an initial annual manufacturing capacity of 800 MW, with future expansion plans targeting up to 3 GW. SLR Solar is also evaluating backward integration opportunities, including the manufacturing of EVA sheets and junction boxes, to strengthen supply chain localisation and improve manufacturing efficiency.
The facility will focus on manufacturing high-efficiency TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) modules, which are increasingly witnessing strong market demand due to their higher energy output, improved temperature performance, and longer operational lifespan compared to conventional PERC modules.
SLR Solar stated that the glass-to-glass modules manufactured at the plant will include a 30-year linear power output warranty along with a 12-year product warranty, targeting both domestic and international solar markets.
The inauguration comes amid rapid expansion in India’s solar manufacturing sector, driven by government initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) regulations, and increasing demand for domestically manufactured solar equipment.
The project also reinforces Rajasthan’s growing position as a renewable energy and solar manufacturing hub, supported by strong solar resources, industrial infrastructure, and rising investments across the clean energy value chain.
Industry trends indicate a growing shift toward TOPCon-based manufacturing technologies in India, with several domestic manufacturers expanding capacities to meet rising demand for high-efficiency solar modules across utility-scale and commercial projects.
