Avaada Electro Limited, the solar manufacturing arm of Avaada Group, has achieved a major milestone with 7,117 MW (7.117 GW) of N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing capacity enlisted under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) 13th revision of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II, dated October 28, 2026.

The enlistment covers Avaada Electro’s manufacturing facility at Butibori in Maharashtra and marks an important step in the company’s efforts to strengthen India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem and develop globally competitive solar cell manufacturing capabilities.

ReNew

The development comes as India continues to expand its renewable energy manufacturing infrastructure, with increasing emphasis on advanced solar technologies, supply-chain resilience and reduced dependence on imported solar components.

Advanced G12 TOPCon Technology and Cell Efficiency

A key highlight of the latest ALMM enlistment is Avaada Electro’s G12 N-type TOPCon solar cell technology, with manufacturer-declared maximum cell efficiency reaching up to 26.8% and the highest listed average cell efficiency of 25.89%.

The company’s G12 full-cell model also has a declared maximum power output of 11.81 watts per cell.

These technical specifications highlight the potential of advanced TOPCon technology to improve power generation from a given silicon cell area, supporting the development of higher-power solar modules.

According to the company, improvements in solar cell conversion efficiency can contribute to better utilisation of materials, manufacturing resources and installation infrastructure. Avaada Electro is focusing on translating these technological advancements into consistent product quality, reliable performance and competitive manufacturing economics.

Strengthening India’s Domestic Solar Manufacturing Capacity

With 7.117 GW of annual enlisted nameplate capacity, Avaada Electro’s Butibori facility represents a significant addition to India’s advanced solar cell manufacturing capabilities. However, actual production and saleable output will depend on operating utilisation, manufacturing yields and product mix.

The manufacturing platform is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to serve India’s expanding solar industry, including solar module manufacturers, renewable energy developers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies.

The capacity also supports India’s broader efforts to strengthen domestic solar supply chains, promote industrial self-reliance and develop a more resilient clean energy manufacturing ecosystem.

Focus on Manufacturing Quality and Operational Excellence

Beyond manufacturing capacity, Avaada Electro is placing emphasis on improving solar cell efficiency, production yields, product reliability, manufacturing productivity and cost per watt.

The company has outlined three guiding principles for its manufacturing operations: First Time Right, which focuses on building quality into every production stage; Every Time Right, aimed at maintaining consistent quality through disciplined processes; and Everything Right, which integrates product performance, operational excellence, responsible manufacturing and customer satisfaction.

Through continued investment in TOPCon technology and manufacturing infrastructure, Avaada Electro aims to establish a dependable domestic solar cell supply platform capable of competing on quality, technology and cost.

Chairman Highlights India’s Solar Manufacturing Potential

Commenting on the milestone, Vineet Mittal, Chairman and Whole-time Director, Avaada Electro Limited, said, “India’s clean energy future cannot depend only on how much solar power we install. It must also depend on how much technology we develop, how much we manufacture ourselves, and how effectively we compete with the world.”

He described the 7.1 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing enlistment as an important milestone in the company’s journey towards advanced domestic manufacturing.

Mittal further stated, “But manufacturing leadership is not about building the biggest factory. It is about making better products, improving efficiency every day, maintaining uncompromising quality and earning the trust of customers through consistent performance.”

Highlighting the company’s long-term vision, he added, “At Avaada, we believe that every improvement in technology must ultimately create value for our customers, for the environment and for our country. Our ambition is simple to Make in India. Compete with the world. Make every watt count. This milestone is not the destination. It is another step towards demonstrating that India can build advanced clean energy technology at scale and with globally competitive standards.”

Supporting India’s Energy Security and Manufacturing Ambitions

The development aligns with India’s broader clean energy manufacturing ambitions, which extend beyond renewable power generation to include advanced industrial capabilities, skilled employment, stronger domestic supply chains and participation in global clean energy markets.

Avaada Electro aims to contribute to these objectives through manufacturing scale, technological development, operational efficiency and long-term customer relationships.

With the 7.117 GW ALMM enlistment, the company has strengthened its position in India’s solar cell manufacturing sector while continuing to focus on higher productivity, consistent quality and improved value from advanced solar technologies.
