Juniper Green Energy Limited, through its subsidiary Juniper Nirjara Energy Private Limited, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for a 50 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project under the SJVN FDRE-2 scheme.

The PPA was signed on August 26, 2026, following the Letter of Award (LOA) issued to Juniper Green Energy on February 3, 2025. The project was awarded through the SJVN FDRE-2 tender, conducted under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines.

Under the agreement, the project will supply power at a tariff of INR 4.25 per unit for 25 years. The project is required to provide four hours of peak-hour power supply with 90% monthly availability, along with meeting the minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) specified under the bid.

Solar and BESS to Support Dispatchable Power

The project will integrate multiple renewable energy technologies, including solar power and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), to meet the contracted supply requirements and provide renewable electricity during designated peak-demand periods.

The combination of renewable generation and energy storage is expected to enable the project to deliver firm and dispatchable clean power, addressing the growing requirement for reliable renewable energy within India’s power system.

Following the addition of the project, Juniper Green Energy’s overall portfolio has reached 11,216 MWp of renewable energy capacity, supported by 8,989 MWh of BESS capacity.

Ankush Malik, Wholetime Director and CEO of Juniper Green Energy, said the PPA strengthens the company’s partnership with SJVN and supports its strategy to develop a large-scale portfolio of FDRE projects.

Malik added that the company’s integrated capabilities across solar generation and battery storage would enable it to deliver renewable power with greater reliability and dispatchability, particularly during peak demand periods.

The company said the project forms part of its broader strategy to develop large-scale renewable energy and storage solutions supporting India’s transition towards a more sustainable and resilient power system.
