Yude Solar Technologies, a subsidiary of the GoodWe Group, and Indonesian solar engineering company PT Selaras Daya Utama (SEDAYUSolar) have announced a strategic joint venture in Jakarta to develop renewable energy projects across Indonesia. The partnership will focus on commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar installations, ground-mounted solar systems, and large-scale utility renewable energy projects.

The joint venture aims to combine international investment, advanced technology, and project development capabilities with local engineering expertise to support Indonesia’s growing renewable energy sector. The companies plan to develop, finance, construct, and operate solar energy projects, creating an integrated platform that covers the entire project lifecycle.

Under the partnership, Yude Solar will contribute its global project development experience, financial resources, and technological capabilities. SEDAYUSolar will bring its understanding of the Indonesian market, local execution capabilities, and experience in delivering renewable energy installations.

Established in 2009, SEDAYUSolar has more than 17 years of experience in Indonesia’s renewable energy industry. The company has completed over 250 solar projects, covering commercial and industrial rooftop installations, off-grid systems, and hybrid energy solutions. Its local experience is expected to support project development, engineering, construction, and long-term operations under the new venture.

Yude Solar was founded in 2021 and has commissioned more than 3 GW of residential and commercial solar projects across China. The company is expanding its operations across Southeast Asia as it seeks to increase its presence in international renewable energy markets. The partnership with SEDAYUSolar is expected to support this expansion by providing access to local expertise and opportunities in Indonesia.

In addition to solar power generation, the joint venture plans to integrate battery energy storage systems (BESS) into projects where appropriate. The inclusion of storage technology is intended to improve renewable energy utilisation, support grid stability, and strengthen energy reliability. Combining solar installations with battery storage could also help customers manage energy consumption more effectively and improve the performance of renewable energy systems.

The partners intend to establish a scalable platform rather than concentrate only on individual installations. The platform will cover project planning, capital investment, engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and long-term asset management. This approach is expected to support the development of a broader portfolio of renewable energy assets across Indonesia.

Bryan Bao, Chief Executive Officer of Yude Solar, described the joint venture as an important milestone in the company’s international expansion. He highlighted the partnership’s role in strengthening its presence in the Southeast Asian market.

Fendi Liem, Founder and CEO of SEDAYUSolar, said the collaboration would combine local market knowledge with international technical capabilities to deliver sustainable energy solutions and long-term value for customers.

Milan Koev, General Manager of Southeast Asia at Yude Solar, also identified Indonesia as an important market within the company’s regional strategy. The venture reflects the partners’ intention to establish a strong portfolio of clean energy projects while supporting the wider adoption of solar power and energy storage across the country.
